The Auger Torque Nemo-Racing.com team, along with the boys from MR Tuning & Wazza Luff have had a crazy week competing at World Time Attack Challenge 2013. The event has become one of Australia's if not the world's premier Time Attack events and attracts huge crowds spread over the 2-day event. It is a crazy spectacle and celebration of all things motorsport so make sure you attend in 2014 if you can!
As the defending champions we knew that we had a lot of people expecting great things from us & our preparations and pre-event testing left us confident that we would be in with a good shot to take out the title once more.
As anyone that follows or is involved in motorsport would know, anything can happen and nothing can be taken for granted. For us unfortunately this was the case at this years event and engine issues only allowed us to run one timed lap, an installation lap on low boost which ended up being our fastest time of the event. Whilst we are disappointed about this, we are over the moon with the fact that this lap was still enough to get us onto the podium, placing 3rd at the end of this years WTAC.
Sometimes you have to remember that it's not the result that gives you the enjoyment and drive to keep going with what you are doing but the journey that got you there in the first place is what counts. We have to say that we thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our week in Sydney as well as the numerous months leading up to the event preparing everything that goes with running a race team, we wouldn't change anything and are already looking forward to next year.
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate this year's World Champions, Tilton Interiors Racing, our hat goes off to the team for bringing their A-Game and running strong all weekend. The car looked absolutely stunning and Garth Walden did an awesome job breaking our record from last year.
We are now looking ahead to 2014 and are excited about where this road will take us next & look forward to trying to get our title back and hopefully become World Champions once more.
