bauma 2016 - the most successful show yet
Apr 25, 2016
Bauma 2016, which took place in Munich in April, once again blew previous editions of the World's Leading Trade Fair for Construction, Building Material and Mining Machines out of the water. 2013 was big, but this year's edition had another increase of close to 10% in both visitor and exhibitor numbers. During the 7-day event more than 580,000 visitors came through the gates to see all the latest products from the 3423 exhibitors sharing the 605,000 square metres of space. To put this into real world terms - picture 60 full size rugby fields next to each other and you are coming close.
Bauma events anywhere around the world are always 'next level' and you can really tell that bauma Munich is the flagship of the franchise. Everything is organised perfectly and every single show stand you will visit will have had months of preparation put into its final desgin. There are many side shows and live exhibitions of machines and attachments doing everything a little bit better than before.
Walking around the show is not something that can realistically be done in a day or two, to do it properly you just about have to spend most of the week there so you are able to take in everything there is to see. All the big companies like Hitachi, Komatsu, Kubota, JCB, CAT, Liebherr to name a few have huge outdoor stands and will have all their biggest showstoppers on display. Liebeherr's stand itself took months to construct and resembles more of a small suburb filled with excavators, loaders, cranes, trucks and mining machinery than just a show exhibit. CAT has for years taken over an entire hall at the hige showground in Munich and their display was as impressive as any year.
The predominantly mild weather with plenty of sunshine also meant that the beer gardens around the grounds were filled with show goers enjoying their huge german style beers and excellent food to recharge them for the rest of the day.
Bauma is really just a celebration of everything that makes our industry great and many of the exhibitors put on massive parties at night. We were able to join one of these parties at Kinshofer, Auger Torque Australia's parent company, we were amazed to see well over 500 people at this VIP event enjoying live music, free flowing beer taps and fatnastic Bavarian food.
We were of course also represented at bauma with our own massive 2 level booth and most of our range on display on the outdoor Kinshofer booth. This year was the sixth time we had exhibited at bauma Munich and we must say our stand really stood out from others as one of the most impressive exhibits in the busy attachments hall of B3.
'We are very happy with how the show went. Right from the minute the doors opened on the first day we were welcoming a constant stream of guests from all over the world at our showstand. While it was clear there were more attendees than in 2013, even more impressive was there was no decline in the quality of the clientele. We managed to sign some significant contracts during week", said Alistair Brydon - Managing Director Auger Torque Europe
Auger Torque of course are famous within the Earthmoving industry for our high qualtiy attachments and our full range was on display, including our new sweeper broom (not available in Australia) as well as the monstrous XHT Screwpile drive. The XHT drive, on display in the 225,000Nm version, attracted a staggering amount of interest from visitors to their booth from all around the world. Another product, which will soon be available for sale, is the new version of our popular hedge-trimmer; it is now also compatible with skidsteer loaders and is sure to be extremely popular in many markets around the globe.
The next bauma will be held in Shang-Hai from the 22nd to 25th of November and Auger Torque will also be attending once again. If you are interested in going to one of these shows yourself then get in touch with Auger Torque via our website network - we would be more than happy to answer any of your questions.
